Hello everyone. I am a computer science engineering student from
India. I want to participate in this year's GSoC with your
organisation and extend my contributions even beyond that as well. I
have begun exploring some project ideas and will be discussing them
soon. Looking forward to interacting here and contributing
productively.

Hello and welcome, I think I saw you message in IRC? I'm in CET
time zone, so that was a bit too early :-).
I guess you already saw the Checklist page in the BRL-CAD wiki
that will be the guideline for this year again.
Please also make sure you read the rules and timeline page on
the Google project site as the rules and conditions have changed
quite a bit for this years GSoC.
ciao,
Torsten.

Yes I posted on IRC as well.

I have gone through the timeline page as well.
Before the project ideas for this year's GSoC was even released I had
started working on the following project:
https://github.com/openscad/openscad/wiki/Project%3A-Multi-threaded-geometry-rendering
I am currently in the process of comprehending it step by step with a
fellow friend and following an IRC discussion with Kintel we were
guided towards the following issue:
http://forum.openscad.org/Should-have-an-option-to-ask-to-render-when-pressing-F6-td20486.html
We are currently working on this.

Great, I guess we can find some time that works for everyone
later...
Right, that's one of the most anticipated and probably also
difficult issues currently open. It would be awesome to get
this done eventually.
As this is a tricky topic, it will be very important to get
it split into small parts that can be solved independently.
This will help with both progress on the issue itself and
with evaluation for GSoC.

Good selection, it's related to the CGAL rendering process
too. I'll have a look at this discussion...
ciao,
Torsten.
