I agree!
I have been using F3 for find-again for decades. I find the "modern"
editors to be infuriating. Why can't we keep things that work?!?

Perhaps if the button had read "Next -
<ctl>
g" this entire thread would
have been unnecessary.
Perhaps if F3 had been used for repeated Finds, nobody would have even
wondered about it.
I would never have considered using anything other than File->Reload (or
Ctrl-R) for reload, let alone F3.

To be fair, I just looked at the Pluma editor on my Linux box, and "Find
Next" is Ctrl-G, which may just be a Unix/Linux standard. I am just in the
process of switching over from the Evil Empire to Ubuntu, so I am not
intimately familiar with Linux conventions yet.
Perhaps a configuration choice would help.
A friendlier method might be for OpenSCAD to detect the OS it is running on,
and use the appropriate conventions.

Using a Mac also changes the conventions
F3 shows all windows
Chrome and Safari both use Cmd-G for next after Cmd-F for find
But my preferred code editor BBEDIT uses Ctrl-G for next (not Cmd) don’t follow this with enter as it will delete the highlighted found word!
cheers

There is a plan to allow key/function customisation.

Note that for Mac users, this customization is already possible in System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts.
