Each time I start OpenSCAD, the focus is somewhere other than in the
source code.  I always have to click in the source code before I can
start editing.  Is there a good reason to not have the focus start in
the source code?

That does not happen here. Which version on which OS and how is
it started (e.g. using the welcome screen?)

ciao,
Torsten.

Boy, that was quick!

2015.03, Win 8.1.  I open OpenSCAD, pick a Recent, double click on it,
and then start typing.  Nothing happens because the focus is elsewhere

Hmm, looks like some platform specific issue then :(, both 2015.03-1 and
the dev version don't have that problem on Linux.

ciao,
Torsten.

Happens here too.
Often the Console is the focus even after manipulating the 3D view with
mouse, or clicking on the grey space at the top of the editor. You have to
click in the white space to focus the that. Even tho the caret it blinking
there already - which is misleading.

Perhaps the console is created first and becomes the focus, then nothing
changes it to the editor?
BTW, need to consider what to focus on when the editor pane is hidden.

IIRC this was brought up some time ago and deemed to be a QT bug.
