Greetings all;

What format do you all feed cura 5.2.1 with? its taken to dislike to
.stl's after doing so well for the last 2 years while I sorta learned
OpenSCAD. Cura 5.3.0 is out but it won't even give me a slice button to
click on.

Reading thru the list of bugs fixed n 5.3.0-beta1, gave me an idea, so I
moved it left on the build plate, and it slices now.  Wierdsville.
I wonder if that fixes 5.3.0-beta1. I'll check once I get this 26 hour
print underway.

Cheers, Gene Heskett.

I'm still on 5.1.0 but using 3MF for a while now and did not have
any issues. I think that's the preferred format at this point.

Note that with the Dev Snapshot of OpenSCAD, you can setup the
export button to 3MF (plus one for 2D a format) via Preferences.

ciao,
Torsten.

How do I go about that?  Thanks.

In rechecking for cura updates, there was a 5.3.0-beta.2 out, pulled it,
ran it and moved the part off center as that bug hasn't been swatted
yet. It sliced my .stl, and claimed it was now twice as fast to print,
so a test print is underway..  If that is true, its a worthwhile
improvement. But the speed was because it overrode my speed controls
which are set low enough the text inlaid on the side of the part to
become illegible from belt ringing. So its resliced again for about a 12
hour build. Then I resliced it for a thicker layer, but that failed on
2nd layer, nozzle clog from too much retraction, so now its made it to
the third layer without a clog, but at 300% speed as set by octoprint.
Jerk is noticable though so I'll have to slow it as the build
progresses. Nozzle temp is down to 230 in an effort to keep the liquid
below the freezeup point in the heat break, seems to be working ok, so
far.  Slicers need to grow an ability to auto diddle the speed and temps
when sensing fine detail And klipper needs to be able to sense ejector
loading and raise the temp and speed when the pressure rises to kill the
upcoming clog before its fatal.

ciao,
   Torsten.
