Curious about this, so created a survey --- I'd be glad of any information anyone would be willing to share. Hopefully I didn't miss any informative options.

I did allow "Other" for each of the 3 questions, so folks can fill me in on anything I missed there.
I'll include the results in an article or wiki page which I'm working on where I'll do a survey of all the possible CAD/CAM options for OpenSCAD --- if someone has a good tutorial showing importing an OpenSCAD file into FreeCAD and doing CAM using the Path Workbench I'd be grateful.
If nowhere else it'll be available at: https://wiki.shapeoko.com/index.php/OpenSCAD

I think you probaly need to further define cam, CNC, 3d printing,. CNC
lathe and laser cutting/engraving all have different requirements and often
have different post design workflows.

William,
I've been watching this from the side lines for a while now. As a veteran
in Open Source (joined that cat fight about 35 years ago and still at it) I
can tell you that what you are trying is not going to work.
Have you thought about who is going to maintain the code, you ask to be
added to the project? This is something I often find to be lacking from
people, who "just want something" included into an existing Open Source
project, which "they think" must be simple. But it isn't. Any feature that
is officially added and declared supported should be supported in the
future. Are you volunteering to maintain that code? Have you submitted the
patch that implements the feature? Have you sponsored the developer who ...
no. None of that.
So who do you expect to maintain the feature, you are asking for, in the
long run?
Regards, Jan
