Ha, I also hung a whiteboard for my wife using OpenSCAD and a 3D printer. I
glued printed hooks to the wall with no more nails, so they are invisible
when the board is hung on them.

Also a rack to hold the pens underneath.

My effort was repairing a broken, favourite pepper grinder. One of my
most pleasing projects, small, almost unnoticed, but very effective.

Thanks to OpenSCAD, I got it right in one go. Rob

A wheel broke off the vacuum cleaner. I designed (in OpenSCAD) and printed
(in abs) this simple but effective fix in about 30 minutes total, while she
was out shopping.

That is very nice indeed! 3d printing works very well for such custom
repairs, otherwise impossible. I really like the idea of your fathers
"never throw anything out that he had not repaired at least twice
before". Well done.

I am now printing an "ant blocker", which is just a funny name for a
custom lid on a septic tank access pipe. Looks like the ants found a way
to our bathroom, but this I hope will cure that problem and make my wife
happy as well :-)

You do realise you've made a rod for your own back now "she" will expect
any gadget or repair whipped up in moments!

My suggestion.... teach her about OpenSCAD and explain ALL the
limitations of 3d printing - in exhaustive detail .... eventually she'll
get bored and think twice before expecting some instantly created star
trek replicator produced widget

;) of course never forget nice (well selected) dust gathers ornaments
can be generators of brownie points!
