PR #7080 https://github.com/openscad/openscad/pull/7080 is intended to
improve the usability of the Customizer with some Windows color
schemes. In particular, under Windows with darker accent colors, the
existing behavior has group title bar text in black on that dark color,
which is difficult or even impossible to read.
In addition (though not its primary goal), it improves the behavior when
you switch between light and dark mode while the application is
running. There are still numerous gaps in that picture, but it fixes
some of them.
See the PR for screen shots demonstrating the change.
Note that one unintended change is that the Customizer group title bar
text is centered, where it was left-aligned. (No, it does not make any
sense at all that this changed; the old behavior appears to be one of
the random effects of enabling Qt style sheets.)
The fact that the color of the arrow didn't change is known and appears
to be a Qt bug.
I only just now noticed that the shape of the arrow changed. That
appears to be another style sheet side effect. I need to look into
whether it's possible to control it without style sheets.
Comments solicited.
At the moment I am only able to test this on Windows 11. Testing on
other platforms solicited. I expect that it may or may not make things
better on other platforms, but I don't expect it to make things worse.
Because this is low-risk and easily tweaked or reverted, I've gone ahead
and merged it. It should be visible in development snapshots in a day
or two.
There may be associated changes in other parts of the UI, but I expect
them to be similar and desirable. The overall trend is to do a better
job of tracking OS theme settings.
