I have written an improved version of JK Keller's (https://github.com/jk-keller) OpenSCAD export script that supports many useful options for those folks who frequently use Illustrator to design things for use in OpenSCAD. The script generates modules for each shape, bounds and center information, supports compound shapes and groups, and file export.
