I think it is a setting in the editor. I had something similar in another text editor and some how I had turned on another style of copying and pasting. It seemed to place random stuff all over the place, it was related to how I used and clicked with cursor. I did not need to use ctr-V. It may have been a setting in the OS. My memory is not so good. Extremely frustrating though, I remember that bit.
