changes to the text editor behavior

I've updated to the latest OpenSCAD release (v2025.04.24), and I noticed a
HUGE slowdown in the behavior of the text editor. Yesterday I noticed that
the new behavior is that it starts rendering after ever character I type,
and restarting the rendering when I type another character. Is there a new
interface switch that would allow me to reset that and require me to either
press the preview button, or to save the file? Or is this a bug?

This is a known issue:
https://github.com/openscad/openscad/issues/5795

If would be great if you could verify that this is the same issue you have and add any additional info you may have to that ticket.

Yes, it is the same behavior.  I'll go check for a "Design/Auto Load" and
"Preview" settings (as implied by
https://github.com/openscad/openscad/issues/3584 ).
