I am running OpenSCAD 2024.01.06.

In the menu under Edit/Preferences there is a tab Buttons.  I selected
<Button 0> to be "Export as Obj".  Where is it documented how I can place
or press this button or can someone explain it?

These (along with the Axes tab) are referring to buttons belonging to a
physical gamepad input or other controller/joystick etc.  If you have one
plugged in, then the button enumeration is dependent on your
hardware+drivers.
It's not for placing custom UI elements if that's what you were thinking.

Thanks.  Yes I was hoping there was a mechanism to add the buttons to the
UI or map them to a keystroke.  Anyone know of a good way to emulate a
gamepad buttons using a keyboard in linux?
