Thank You OpenSCAD Developers!

I am a retired Software Engineer.  Just over a year ago, I purchased my
first 3D printer. A friend suggested that I look at OpenSCAD… I dove in
like a kid into a swimming pool! It was so much fun! I developed my own
system of creating assemblies just to learn more about OpenSCAD.

However, over the past few months, as a user/hobbyist, I started
(erroneously) to think that OpenSCAD was stagnating and that there was
little development going on.  I thought I’d see what development was going
on by “watching” the OpenSCAD github.

Boy, was I wrong!  There is a ton of development going on behind the scenes
that us mere users do not see, by a small but very energetic team. I thank
the OpenSCAD developers for their continued dedication to improving this
wonderful software. I could never do this type of development (C/C++ and I
separated years ago due to irreconcilable differences).

OpenSCAD allows this old guy to fulfill a lifetime dream: to be a
creative/maker. What you are doing DOES make a difference!

Thank you Leonard,

I agree with your sentiment. I have a similar admiration for the
OpenSCAD developers.

I only use the program to develop simple objects ( my parents are Bob
and Gwenda, and my children are Nicholas, Adrienne and Jordan, apart
from that....). But my pleasure from being able to design basic
utilitarian objects and successfully print them is almost totally due to
OpenSCAD.

While the measurement, and lack of true variables, discussions rise and
fall, I just keep on using the basics and having fun.

Thanks folks,

RobW
