SCAD format & injection molding

Hello OpenSCAD forum, I'd like to introduce myself and thank  the
developers of OpenSCAD for their efforts building a wonderful software
package.

My question is are their any plastic injection molding companies that
will work with native SCAD files? I've got a family of parts designed
in SCAD I'd like to build in bulk. The first injection
molding  manufacturer I contacted regarding building these parts only
accepts designs done in surface model format (i.e. STEP and a bunch of
others). I briefly toyed around with conversion of my SCAD parts using
FreeCAD but the results were not good.

I'm asking the question here as what I've learned about this subject
suggest that it's non-trivial going from SCAD to a surface format and
these surface formats are necessary for the  linear/circular G-code
used to make molds in the injection molded plastic's industry. I'd like
to know if someone on the list has had success building a complicated
SCAD part via  injection molding. If so who did you use?

Thanks in advance for your replies and feel free to contact me
privately if you have a name.

Best Regards

Scott
