For some reason, my editor, which previously had the 'file, edit,
design..' tabs at the top and the other windows were within, has lost
those tabs, which now appear on the model view window, and the editor is
now completely unattached. How do i get it back to the original
appearance (windows 10, OpenSCAD https://www.openscad.org/version
2022.11.18.ci12805 (git 1746d5a83)) .I've tried a few things, with no
success.

Drag the editor window back to the model view window.  It should snap to
one of the four sides; snap it to whichever side you like.

Then go to Edit/Preferences/Advanced and uncheck "Enable undocking of
Editor and Console to separate windows" and maybe "Enable docking of
Editor and Console in different places".

By the way... the File/Edit/Design menus were always on the model
window... the distinction just wasn't all that obvious when the editor
window was docked there.  They didn't move - it was the editor that moved.
