F5 speed vs F6 speed

Using a month, maybe 2 old AppImage 2023.09.10.ai16125 of the
development version, is there an edit>prefs setting that will restore
preview speed?

I'm working a a pretty complex thing, that F6's in just over 1 second,
but F5's in about 1:133 minutes.  The lag is very distracting.

Thanks.

Cheers, Gene Heskett.

If we desire respect for the law, we must first make the law respectable.

That’s a pretty huge difference.

Is rendering relatively swift after doing F5, or is the frame rate also low?
Did you enable any experimental features?

If you could share an, as small as possible, example exhibiting this symptom, we could try to look into it.

I don't have a "small" example, the file is one of my earlier works, and
actually makes a couple dozen different parts depending on whats
uncommented at the bottom of a 631 line file. The actual code in use for
this part is probably some north of 200 lines just for the part I'm
working on.  It is also a potentially commercial product I have visions
of selling 10 or 20 of. Eventually. If I don't miss roll call first.  At
89 and a chest full of hardware I wasn't born with, that is also a
possibility. Let me see if I can strip out the most complex part into
another file over the next 2 or 3 days and still make it work.

Thank you Marius.

Cheers, Gene Heskett.
