Don Smiley is attributed as the author of a library module for creating
dimensions with the exclamation
of "the godfather of dimension drawing in OpenSCAD." Don's domain
cannymachines.com currently
is not resolvable, although WHOIS tells us " Registry Expiry Date:
2021-02-06T19:05:34Z".
Three questions:
does anyone know how to reach Don Smiley?
Was a high watermark of his library preserved someplace?
Does OpenSCAD incorporate a dimensions library in is basic build?
I found a github page at
https://github.com/jeremybennett/scad-examples/blob/master/libraries/dimlines.scad
that states on line 64: Created by Don Smiley. I did not find any
mention of dimensions in the
OpenScad documentation, nor in the basic package.

Thanks Doug. Why didn't I think of the Wayback Machine?? Your information
caused me to learn that Don Smiley has a github account where his
"dimlines" project is stored:
https://github.com/sidorof/dimlines
Don also is listed on LinkedIn, though I no longer subscribe to that
service so I could not view the profile.
Don's Github activity chart shows he made a commit to another project nine
days ago. I'll try reaching out to him to alert him that his domain
cannnymachines.com is failing resolution in DNS.
