[Re-sending to all]

I've found that this works for a lot of applications:

Go to installation directory and right-click the executable name
--> Properties --> Compatibility --> Change high DPI settings --> at bottom
click to Override and select 'System'

We just talked about this a little in the context of whether I should
expand the scope of some work I did to increase the size in the
Customizer pane.  The answer seemed to be that we should first look to
conforming to global OS font size preferences.  (Which, of course,
requires understanding those preferences.)

Windows 11 has Settings > System > Display > Scale.  That affects some,
but not all, text in OpenSCAD.  We should probably look into why it
doesn't affect all text.

There should be an option to set the font size of preferences window inside
openSCAD.

That would be easier for people like me.

Answer by Dan doesn't come naturally to my mind

On macOS, in System Settings > Accessibility > Display> Text > Text Size
there is OS support for setting the default text size, to either the system
provided one, or asserting that the app provides its own control or
overriding the system one for just that app.

But, it is useless. The underlying API is only available for the Catalyst
framework, the Swift UI framework, and WebKit. OpenSCAD uses QT which uses
the AppKit framework which doesn't give access to the Dynamic Text API.
See:
https://developer.apple.com/design/Human-Interface-Guidelines/typography#Platform-considerations
for confirmation from Apple of this.

So I agree that there should be an option to set the font size in the
preference window inside OpenSCAD.

I don't think that's the right way to solve it: Conforming to an OS
setting that automatically makes the font size readable on your
high-DPI screen means you won't even have to think about where to find
that setting.

So Jordan's plan-of-attack seems to make sense to me: Figure out why
some stuff scales, while other stuff doesn't and then try to make the
not-scaling stuff the same as the scaling stuff.
