It’s advisable to start a new thread for a new subject - it’s quite easy.

When I checked the thread to see what was new, I found, to my annoyance, that it had been killed off as far as the subject of interest to me was concerned.

Your own discussion is effectively hidden and if you ever want to refer back to it, it will be difficult to find.
