I have a product that I re-generate from an OpenSCAD script
occasionally. This time I ended up with these messages, four times.
Interestingly, I have Stop On First Warning set.
Rendering Polygon Mesh using Manifold...
WARNING: Minkowski: Nef polyhedron converted from mesh is invalid!
WARNING: [manifold] Minkowski failed with error, falling back to Nef
operation: Minkowski: Nef polyhedron converted from mesh is invalid!
ERROR: Nef minkoswki operation failed: CGAL ERROR: assertion violation!

File:
/mxe/usr/x86_64-w64-mingw32.static.posix/include/CGAL/convex_decomposition_3.h

The resulting model looks fine.
Any thoughts?

After I sent this message out, I did an F6 so I could print the object. No error messages. I then did an F5. No error messages.
Strange. Perhaps unreproducable.

I get this error a lot. And like the OP for me a simple repeat of F5 or F6 and it executes without error. Most often encountered with the first preview/render of a program with minkowski calls after launch of OpenSCAD. Leads me to the assumption that there is some memory/bounds limit that is increased as the code is being processed but that the error/warning condition has already tripped. When rerunning preview or render the limiting value proceeds with the ’newly bumped’ value so it processes successfully.

My point about clearing the cache is that if you run a model you ran
already then it can be in the cache and you won't get the same messages you
got the first time.
It appears that in this case a bunch of messages appear and yet the model
works anyway, so I would expect subsequent times the model will work
without any messages.
