Odd behaviour with RC6 IDE

I've been using RC6 for a while now and have noticed that when I open an
.SCAD file and try to edit it sometimes my keystrokes don't do anything.

I can position the cursor but if I hit delete (say) nothing happens,
same goes for alpha-numeric key strokes.

If I keep trying, eventually it works.

It is almost as though the file is read only  (it isn't - I have checked).

The files are on a remote file server if that makes any difference.

I don't recall this happening on previous releases.

I am also seeing this with version 2021.01 under 64bit Win 7 ...

I now suspect that its not a "read only" issue but the program looses access to the keyboard, I can move the cursor to change the edit point but the keyboard is not active (not even the cursor keys).

A bit further investigation seems to indicate that performing a render fixes the problem.

I have one particular project file where this happens every time I do a preview and the only way out is to perform a render.

I can let you have the sources if it would help.

Regards,
Dave

Moving the cursor, presumably by mouse click into source?

performing a render fixes the problem.

How do you initiate the render, menus/icon-button/F6?

How do you initiate the preview, menus/icon-button/F5?

Just keeping typing? It just starts to work?
What if you pause for the same amount of time (plus a bit) then hit a key?
i.e. is it just busy doing something, then gets caught up?

Does it happen if you copy them locally?

zip it.
