Hello
I do a lot of cases with OpenSCAD
for this purpose OpenSCAD is perfect.
I use NetFabb to measure my models precise.
How you are doing this ?

In general I don't. I code my models to be the size I want and they are.

I did once make a typo and print something that was stupidly oversized but
fortunately it was only the internal dimensions that mattered.

I do sometimes use NetFabb to double check.
