I recently downloaded the latest snapshot of OpenSCAD for MacOS. In this snapshot, the preview is continuously enabled which is really awful. It does not even wait a few seconds so when your typing you get lots of errors and sometimes it hangs which requires aborting the app.
This would work if the rendering was done in the background and would stop when you type a next character. This would also allow canceling a render which would prevent many 'Quit Application' operations for me.
The way it works now is imho quite bad. Is there a way to disable it? I can't find it in the preferences?
Kind regards,
Peter Kriens
It's a bug. It should be fixed in builds starting on May 16, issue
#5795 https://github.com/openscad/openscad/issues/5795, PR#5901
https://github.com/openscad/openscad/pull/5901.
Workaround by turning off Design / Automatic Reload and Preview.
Thanks, I'll check it out.
