Problem with difference

I'm having a problem with the difference tool that may actually be a
problem with the operator.

I've got an object - a wall to which I'm adding brick and it has a
sloped top.  The core of the wall was created in FreeCAD and I use
OpenSCAD to add the brick.  I decided it would be trivial to create a
"difference wedge" in FreeCAD from existing geometry and export it as a
second STL file I could use to difference from the finished brick
application to get the result I wanted as my experience with OpenSCAD
and creating a comparable wedge the right size and in the right position
would be much more challenging.

Well, I did all that but the difference seems not to be working - see
the attached zip file for all the applicable pieces.  I guess the
question is can the difference tool use an STL object as the
differencing element (did that question make any sense at all?

Thanks
