How to disable cursor reset?

Every time I save and preview my file in OpenSCAD, it repositions my cursor
to the top of the file. How do I stop this? It's driving me insane and
making it impossible to get any work done.

What version & what platform?

It is not happening with the latest snapshot (2014.12.25) (on W7/64)

I'm using the 2013.02.28 version straight from the Ubuntu 12 repo. There
doesn't seem to be anything more recent, short of compiling it from
scratch. I tried the PPA, but that only seems to work for Ubuntu 14.

I'm sorry, I just noticed the pre-compiled Linux package on the downloads
page. I installed that, and it seems to work fine.
