Wiki, color list & use of sandbox templates

I just noticed in the Wiki
https://en.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=OpenSCAD_User_Manual/Transformations&stable=0#color
for color(), the list of SVG colours seemed to be missing.

I then noticed the '[Expand]' link hiding to the right.

I then read the text, it mentioned "Expand the following section for the chart of the color names"
hidden mid para.
I broke that out to a separate line with bold, but I'm still not happy; casual users may miss the
table.

I propose un-expanding to have the table shown.

I also not it uses:
{{User:VulcanWikiEdit/sandbox/collapse before}} & {{User:VulcanWikiEdit/sandbox/collapse_after}}
to do it.

I don't think the Wiki should use sandbox templates from individuals pages??
However, I'm not that Wiki literate to know where to put 'official' templates.

Unless they are used elsewhere, my proposed edit above, makes this moot.

In a couple of days, if I get no objections here, I will remove the collapse's to restore the
table.

i have developed a few templates in the OpenSCAD_User_Manual namespace, after testing them in my sandbox on my own docs. I thought i had successfully moved the expand template pair into the scad space, but apparently not .. or i did move them over but used the wrong templates in the page. my bad if that is the case .. sorry I think readers are better served by not having large tables to scroll past on their way to something they want to see following it. Your points about making the expand "button" larger is well taken .. if the community sticks with the Not Invented Here attitude and you folks just revert my work out then i won't bother to update the template in the scad namespace as you wont need it, BUT if you find it a useful addition to the documentation toolset i will update it to be a better tool in the set -- jeff is vulcan_ in the cloud On Nov. 9, 2025, at 1:56 a.m., "Michael Marx (spintel) via Discuss" discuss@lists.openscad.org wrote: I just noticed in the Wiki for color() , the list of SVG colours seemed to be missing. I think readers are better served by not having large tables to scroll past on their way to something they want to see following it.

Unless that is what they want to see.
The problem is it was not obvious that it was there.

I don't have a problem with new templates, but they shouldn't be published for real as sandbox version.

I managed to find a native collapse format for tables, so now the table header is shown, so it is not missed.
I think that works well. Wiki https://en.wikibooks.org/w/index.php?title=OpenSCAD_User_Manual/Transformations&stable=0#color  for color()

So as it stands, that page does not need the 'collapse' template ATM.

That does look like a a better collapse template than I found

And you did see that I thought I had successfully transferred my two part version to the OpenSCAD name space .. and I also said “my bad”

The page looks good
