[OpenSCAD] Issue while rendering image

Tried code on my machine and it ran great. 

Linux Mint
16 Gb memory
intel I7 4-core

Cache size set to 2gb.

I suspect program is not reporting short resources somewhere and
crashes instead.  Bug may be specific to windows???
